Without further delay, lets get started.
Myth 5: When learning a Foreign language, You should be academically smart enough.
I don’t know who created this myth. But let me tell you one thing, I have seen many students or corporate men and women (who were academically very poor in studies), have completed or learned one foreign language for living & trust me all are earning well, than those who were academically well.
You must have seen or heard about people, who work less and earn more, especially, in the domain of foreign language , people earns just by travelling, no desk jobs, or they simply work from home. That’s called as Freedom!
If you are or were good in academic studies that’s good, but if you are not or were not, then its even more good. Its all about interest. If you have interest then you can outperform any one.
But wait, here we are not in any race, so don’t thing like that, no competition over here, only pure interest, that what we need. Just focus on yourself. many are giving up just because of lack of information & their zero interest in learning.
All you need to have is pure interest in learning new things. It always takes a time just in the beginning only, once you stick with it and try to edit or modify this language as per you convenient, and develop learning habits, read motivations, you go to mastery or at least speak or communicate well in that particular language. You can be guru too. For those who are not or were not good in studies.
Myth 4: Adults should learn foreign
languages the way kids learn languages.
Sounds good but Not practically. Both are completely different. I mean, just imagine, really? See, Kid’s brain and adults brains are different. Therefore, why would anybody expect that the same teaching techniques that work for kids be appropriate for adults? They are not.
But unfortunately, adult as a foreign language learners sometimes try to learn a language by stripping away all of the learning experience and strategies that helped them become successful adults.
Also new learners especially adults, try to learn foreign language “purely”, the way they acquired their first language. No this is not possible.
Kids brain are empty, one the other side, adults have good experience what to learn and what not. Adults went through all ups and down and hence fully aware about what works for them and what not.
Hence, if you merely mimic like kids or Children , at the end chances are high that you end up with frustration, time wasting, and a higher probability of abandoning the goal of learning this beautiful foreign language.
So, Final advice would be for adults to build on their considerable cognitive strengths and do not envy or try to mimic kids language learning. I hope you got the point.

Myth 3: Setback means you have failed!
Remember, Relearning is faster than learning!
No! not agree. IN spite of the best intentions, life events can disturb consistent study habits. You may find yourself setting aside foreign language study for days or even month. This can be frustrating , But it does not mean that you should abandon your aim or goals.
If you are a college or school student or any working professional for that matter, and during exam or due to any matter had to leave your newly foreign language study or even classes in middle, no problem! Do not take it as a sign that you can not do it- come back and try again. Now this time you will have good start.
Myth 2: Adults can not acquire a foreign
language as easily as kids.
Both are different. You know that!
Adults can learn new languages even more easily than the kids. When it comes to language learning, there are only two areas where kids may be advance to adults, first is Kids do not have any language learning anxiety. Kids are not burdened by a belief that they cannot learn a foreign language, They are completely free from such self-defeating thoughts.
Second is Their ability to gain a native accent. See adults too have this ability. Normal Adults are also capable of achieving native like fluency as well. kids are kids and adults are adults, so no need to worry about it.
I don’t know why we are comparing kids vs adult. Its because of our common myths. Do not put more pressure just start it. Focus on your self and you will have what you want. Do not be a couch potato. Work hard in a smart way.
Enjoy.
